Project 2 - Manufactured Materials

New vs Aged Comparison Images

Project 2 focused on the creation of manufactured materials using Substance Designer, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine. Using real-world references, both pristine and aged versions of each asset were developed to study surface wear, material degradation, and physically based rendering workflows. Materials and props included ceramic kitchen jars, vintage transistor radios, Formica countertops, decorative kitchen towels, wood carvings, and bronze ornamental objects.

The project emphasized procedural material generation, UV layout integration, layered texture workflows, opacity and surface detail control, and the transition between clean and weathered states. Final assets were rendered in Unreal Engine using Sequencer to evaluate realism, lighting interaction, and environmental storytelling within a real-time rendering pipeline.
